Therapy Dogs

Do you have a pet so nice they MUST be shared?

Your certified therapy pet can help hospice patients!

Our patients live all over Chicago, and a visit from a certified therapy animal (or Canine good citizen) can make their last year of life one filled with love, licks and the joy of a wonderful animal companion.

*If your animal is not yet certified, Canine good Citizen trainings & certification tests are available many places including many pet stores, and if you're willing to take the extra Therapy Pet route, you can look at organizations like Pet Partners (for almost any animal) or Therapy Dogs International or Alliance of Therapy Dogs for your pup.

Hospice is about living and celebrating life for as long as possible, and making sure patients and their families receive love and support - from staff, from volunteers, and from friendly pets!

Our volunteers receive extensive training to work in hospice, and will need a fingerprinting background check, tb and drug testing (for drugs not legal in IL), and vaccine & certification records for their dogs. We'd be happy to share more information - please get in touch!
