Kids in a New Groove

Kids in a New Groove is a nonprofit that transforms the lives of youth in foster care through private, in home music lessons and mentorship. Be a part of the team that makes that possible!

Programming

While ED often carries out the day to day activities which result in the development and implementation of the organization’s programs, the Programming Committee is charged with long range planning, strategic direction and general oversight. Programming must be aligned with the Board of Director’s strategic plan. The committee responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing new program development along with monitoring and assessing existing programs
  • Initiating and guiding program evaluations
  • Facilitating discussions about program priorities for the organization
  • Evaluating partner agencies

Mission Statement

Kids in a New Groove provides private one-on-one music instruction to kids in foster care throughout Texas. KING builds a solid foundation for foster youth through music mentorship, so that youth can age out of care with tools for success. Once enrolled, students can earn their own brand new instrument, in addition to performing in recitals and shows.
