Do you like organizing? We need enthusiastic, detail oriented, help whenever fits your schedule. This is an ongoing need and opportunity to assist an organization serving the community! You can drop in and do is little or as many hours during our hours of operation!

Flexible drop in hours Monday-Friday 10-6pm Saturday 10-7 Sunday Closed

General cleaning that keeps the store beautiful for our customers so that they have a great experience from start to finish! We serve our customers with low prices and a clean environment. Community Threads is 100% nonprofit and supports the local community through programs and financial grants that alleviate poverty and promote education.

Mission Statement

Home of the Sparrow provides Hope, Opportunity and Support to empower women and children as they journey from homelessness to self-sufficiency.

Description

Volunteers are the backbone of Home of the Sparrow. Each time you volunteer, you become part of a woman’s story as she journeys to self-sufficiency!

Home of the Sparrow provides Transitional Shelter, as well as Affordable Housing and Rapid Re-Housing for women and children. Our Supportive Services address the core issues of homelessness.

We invite you to volunteer and shop at our Sparrow's Nest and Community Tread Thrift Stores. Stores are located in Woodstock, McHenry, Cary, Palatine, Mundelein, Third Lake, and Arlington Heights. Proceeds of these stores help keep our doors open. For more information about our programs, volunteering, or becoming a donor, visit www.HOSparrow.org.
