This job description outlines the objective, primary responsibilities and/or requirements and qualifications of the Marketing Intern.

Objective: The Marketing Intern will be responsible for assisting Angel Flight West with developing and implementing its marketing, public relations and business development plans. This will be accomplished through developing, maintaining and expanding marketing channels/methodologies to the professional community, healthcare professionals, senior industry and the public at large.

Reports to: Director, Advancement

Primary Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

Marketing/Public Relations

 Utilize monthly marketing and public relations calendar to coordinate activity with regional focus

 Assist with customizing and then disseminating press releases

 Assist in coordinating various marketing methods including: direct mail, print ads, networking, internet, social media

• Social media point person, including FB posts, emails, etc.

• Photographer for mission flights, also organizing, editing and posting photos

• Journalism tasks, such a blog posts and articles

  Business Development/Community Outreach

• Identify local influence centers to determine referral sources

• Assist with business development marketing strategy implementation

   Arrange presentations and support coordination of wing leader involvement

• Create AFW info packets, compile boxes and prepare for mailing

Special Projects

• Examples include FBO discount project, Lightspeed aviation foundation contest, blog articles etc.

Qualifications

 Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a changing environment

 Excellent interpersonal skills with internal/external audience

• Reliability in the work environment

   Proactive problem solving and issue resolution leadership ability

   Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required

• Excellent proficiency with social media vehicles

   Ability to learn other software programs

   Strong verbal and written communication

   Ability to work independently and as part of a team
