Purpose of
Assignment:
Assist with patient access into the Charlie Norwood Veterans Affairs Medical Center Facility
Using Service:
Voluntary Service
Department & Location:
Voluntary Service/Downtown Division
Site Supervisor and Phone: Chief Voluntary Service & Staff
Time Requirements:
Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-Noon/ Noon-4:30 p.m. We appreicate any time you can give.
Specific Duties:
Communicate daily with nursing services
Scan and retrieve wheel chairs from all entrances into the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center (CNVAMC).
Scan and retrieve wheel chairs from all floors
Work closely with Valet Parking Staff on wheel chair needs
Ensure cleanliness and maintenance is conducted Bi-Weekly on all wheel chairs
Escort Veterans to scheduled appointments as needed
Must be able to function autonomously
Provide directional information to Veterans, Family Members & visitors
Store all wheel chairs at end of shift in designated locations
Qualifications & Training Required:
Strong interpersonal communication skills necessary to deal effectively with general public
Ability to handle multiple task
Ability to compile and maintain routine activity reports
