Did you know 40% of food in America goes to waste? You can help change that by volunteering with Food Lifeline's Fresh Rescue Program.
Food Lifeline partners with local grocery stores to donate perishable and shelf-stable products, including produce, dairy, meat, bakery and dry items. You will help inspect grocery rescue donations and repack them for distribution to our 275 partner agencies. Individuals interested in a weekly schedule are a great help.
Fresh Rescue Volunteer sessions take place Monday - Friday 9am-12pm; 1pm-5pm. Food safety training is provided at the beginning of project and volunteers must be at least 16 years old.

Mission Statement
Feeding people facing hunger today and working to solve hunger for tomorrow.
Description
Food Lifeline is on a mission to end hunger in Western Washington. We believe that access to food is a human right and that nobody deserves to be hungry. Food Lifeline provides nutritious food to thousands of people facing hunger every year by sourcing nutritious food from a variety of food industry partners. We distribute this food through a partnership with 300 food banks, shelters and meal programs, enabling us to provide the equivalent of 134,000 meals every single day. At the same time we are working to end hunger for the future by addressing its root causes, including systemic inequity and social justice. We do this through advocacy efforts to shape local, state and federal policy, by partnering with organizations that are addressing other causes of poverty and through community engagement and mobilization efforts.
