An early Thanksgiving! Feed men and women experiencing homelessness

ORGANIZATION: The Primavera Foundation

Winstel is affordable housing for 28 men, women and couples who have experienced many obstacles to housing stability including chronic homelessness and disabilities.

Every year to brighten their Thanksgiving we invite volunteers to bring a yummy Thanksgiving dish to share with the residents. Residents also pitch in and share a dish and both volunteers and residents are welcome to have an EARLY Thanksgiving meal together.

DATE: Thursday Nov. 16 TIME: Set up 4 pm, serve 4:30 pm

LOCATION 2191 S. Winstel

We are in need of volunteers to bring the following:

Turkeys

Stuffing

Gravy

Drinks

Salad/veggies

Cranberry Sauce

Desserts

Families with children welcome!

Please note - this event will be held outside in the court yard - we will have tables and chairs. Please bring items hot and ready to serve, with serving utensils.

The Primavera Foundation provides pathways out of poverty through safe, affordable housing, workforce development, and neighborhood revitalization.

Description

Each year, our programs impact more than 8,000 individuals and families living in Southern Arizona. For many men, women, and families who are homeless, the first step to getting off the streets is connecting with us. Through partnerships with volunteers, neighborhoods, and a wide variety of community-based organizations, businesses, and public entities; we offer four areas of support:

SURVIVAL - People in need find immediate relief and shelter through our Homeless Intervention and Prevention emergency services programs (drop-in centers, shelters, Project Action for Veterans, rent and utility assistance, and rapid re-housing) as they recover from economic crisis and are assisted with acquiring the information and skills needed to live independently and offset future crises.

STABILITY - Participants transition to a stable lifestyle by providing safe, affordable rental housing and steady employment through our Primavera Works Social Enterprise.

SECURITY - Financial education, asset-building services, and homeownership opportunities are available for participants seeking long-term financial empowerment.

SUSTAINABILITY - Committed to social and economic justice, we strengthen resident leadership and integrate community building and engagement activities in targeted areas to revitalize neighborhoods.
