Southwest Lending Closet

  • 50 people are interested

Looking for a fun and flexible place to volunteer? The Southwest Lending Closet is looking for you. We lend durable medical equipment free for up to 90 days to anyone who needs it, anywhere in the Phoenix metro area. We're the only company of its kind in the metro, and we're completely run by volunteers - we have no paid staff. We've been doing this work for over 20 years, just like this - and growing every year. Last year, we served over 5,000 clients, and loaned over 15,000 pieces of equipment.

As a volunteer, you'll check equipment in and out, while working with 3 co-volunteers, all doing the same job. You'll work with lots of nice people. We're known as a great place to volunteer. We're open 6 days a week, 3 hours a day. Once you're trained, we ask you to work a minimum of 2 complete shifts a month - more if you want. The schedule is completely flexible, and you're in control of when you work. It can be different every week or every month. Flexibility is our middle name!

Volunteer training occurs one-on-one over the course of two 3-hour sessions. Once you're trained, the schedule is available to you to sign up. Please note that this position requires volunteers to lift equipment such as wheelchairs out of tight spaces, so you must have some physical capability.

Come serve with us!
