Join us in the gardens of the California Nursery Historical Park every Thursday from 10:00 to 12:00. We maintain five distinct, historic gardens: the rose garden, a succulent garden, a shade garden, raised beds, and The Woods.
There are seasonal activities to keep our gardens looking beautiful and free of pesticides: weeding, raking, watering, planting, and pruning. Bring gloves, water, and your favorite garden tools. We also have gloves and tools to share.
This park is located at Nursery Avenue and Niles Boulevard. The rose garden is on the right as you drive in. Park opposite the garden introduce yourself as a new volunteer to anyone who is working. Volunteers will be in the rose garden, the first you will see, or further along the path in the other gardens.
Ages 14 and above, unless accompanied by a parent.
Everyone must sign a liability waiver.
The waiver will be emailed to you when indicate your interest.

Mission Statement
The California Nursery Historical Park in Fremont provides many exciting opportunities for volunteers. Do you like to garden? We have a rose garden, cactus garden, a shade garden, and flower gardens. Do you like history? Our park is located on a portion of a 150-year old historic nursery that was instrumental in providing plants to a growing California. Do you need volunteer hours for school? There are many projects going on that you can be a part of. Do you like being with others who like plants?
Description
The California Nursery Garden Club members are people who enjoy and volunteer in our historic park. The gardens are maintained by volunteers who enjoy working in the rose garden, cactus garden, historic shade garden, historic trees, and flower gardens. Volunteers garden in the historic gardens that were formed in 1907 and 1934. Classes and tours take advantage of the plants and animals that reside here.
We work with the Math Science Nucleus and with the City of Fremont.
