The California Nursery Garden Club

Join us in the gardens of the California Nursery Historical Park. We meet every Thursday from 10:00 to 12:00. We have several historic gardens that we are taking care of: rose garden, succulent garden, shade garden, and pollinator garden.

Each week we will be doing seasonal activities to keep our gardens looking beautiful and free of pesticides: weeding, raking, watering, planting, and pruning. Bring gloves, water, and your favorite garden tools. We also have gloves and tools to share.

This park is located at Nursery Avenue and Niles Boulevard. The rose garden is on the right as you drive in. Park opposite rose garden next to chain-link fence and introduce yourself as a new volunteer to anyone who is working. We will be in the rose garden, the adjacent cactus garden, in the lawn area, or in the gardens further north. Our park has a museum and you can find out about the history of the California Nursery Company which was established in 1884. Fruit trees, ornamentals, roses, and palms were grown here.

Students working for volunteer hours are welcome. We will verify your school community service hours.

Thursday and Weekend work parties for student or corporate groups of 10-50 can be arranged ahead of time.

Ages 14 and above, unless accompanied by a parent.
Everyone must sign a liability waiver.
We adhere to outdoor community health guidelines.
Less than 18 must have parent signature. The Volunteer Release and Waiver of Liability Form is required, and will be sent via email when you indicate an interest in an opportunity. You may review the form below.
