Assist with after school program for elementary through high school aged youth. 100% of program participants have graduated from high school. Help us continue to reach that goal!
- Serve as a role model for participants while developing positive rapport
- Support educational and extracurricular workshop activities
- Assist youth coordinator staff in facilitating workshops by coordinating materials and supplies and assisting participants
Six month commitment required (January-June). Volunteers must be availalbe Tuesdays from 5:00-7:30 p.m.
Volunteers must be comfortable with helping provide transportation for workshop field trips. The volunteer would complete agency paperwork and drive agency vehicles.

Alternatives For Girls helps homeless and high-risk girls and young women avoid violence, teen pregnancy and exploitation, and helps them explore and access the support, resources and opportunities necessary to make positive choices in their lives.
Description
Alternatives For Girls (AFG) is a Detroit-based 501(c)3 nonprofit serving homeless and high-risk girls and young women. Since 1987, AFG has provided critical services to the girls and young women we serve, including safe shelter, street outreach and educational support, vocational guidance, mentoring, prevention activities, and counseling. The goal is to empower the girls and young women we serve to make positive choices.
