Dear Volunteers,

The women and men who are the vitality of our hospice Volunteer Program bring direct compassionate companioning to individuals and families facing end-of-life challenges and possibilities. Our program actively provides our volunteers with orientation/training, ongoing support/education and 'field' assignments through careful match-making.

We are seeking volunteers inclined to help with program support so we might enrich our processes and bring a more robust response to the daily requests for volunteer support 'in the field.'

We envision this volunteer opportunity is for those individuals with an affinity for and an openness to organizing, developing and implementing support services. Presently, the following services needing your volunteer support include: newsletter design and publication of local happenings and educational opportunities; assistance with match-making volunteers with requests for direct patient/family companioning in support of our Volunteer Coordinator's daily role; and, most significantly, 'loving up' our volunteers with frequent affirmations: acknowledging birthdays, planning monthly gatherings for support and education, recognition events.
