Southern California Genealogical Society
48th Annual Genealogy Jamboree

The 49th Annual Southern California Genealogy Jamboree will be held Thursday through Saturday, May 31-June 2, 2018 at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel, Burbank, California. The first day is Genetic Genealogy, on Thursday, May 31, 2018, and will include a full day of DNA presentations and in-depth workshops. Friday and Saturday, June 1 and 2, will be filled with sessions relating to International and U.S. genealogy topics and how-to. There is also a large Exhibit Hall which is opened free to the public where there will be mini-classes, and numerous family history related products and activities to view and participate in.

It takes an army of volunteers to make Jamboree happen!

We have been fortunate to have many loyal volunteers who assist us every year. They continue to volunteer because they enjoy it and love to contribute. The Southern California Genealogical Society thanks our volunteers and welcomes new volunteers who want to join the fun.

Volunteer opportunities exist for all three days and include set up/tear down of tables, registration, hospitality, scanning session surveys, exhibit hall door security, traffic direction, social media monitoring, manning exhibit hall tables, and much more.

This is a fun event with sessions for every experience level, from the novice to the professional genealogist. You'll find welcoming smiles, a casual learning environment, excellent instructors, a variety of topics, and fun social activities. You might even find a cousin.

To inquire about volunteer opportunities, email jamboreevolunteer@scgsgenealogy.com. An online sign-up system will be available in early May.
