Fun painting!

You don't need to be an artist to volunteer in this opportunity!

We are a nonprofit organization that helps impoverished children realize their dreams through the use of art. They can be anything they want to be! Dedicate a few hours to help children express themselves through the use of art! We are at the shelter on Tuesday evenings at 5:15 pm. We would love it if you could dedicate two Tuesday evenings a month! We do art therapy-based programming with them to have fun and create with us while forgetting their daily stresses. We focus on empowerment-using only nice words and collaboration. It's so much fun and full of positivity! We bring all the supplies, you come to hang out and help them with the activity!

We are looking for volunteers over 18.

Please fill out our volunteer application at drawchange.org - that's the first step!

Thank you in advance!

About drawchange

Location:

PO Box 55627, Atlanta, GA 30306, US

Mission Statement

Drawchange is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to empowering children from lower socioeconomic situations through the use of art therapy-based programming. Our programs teach coping skills that foster Collaboration, Creation, Dream-building, Empowerment, Imagination, Self-Esteem, and Stress-Relief.

Description

Our vision is to provide the tools neccesary so each child has the ability to fully express themselves.

Art is a vehicle to reach out to students. Engaging them with art enriches their study with all other curriculum subjects. Our strategy is aimed to spark the energy of world peace by igniting the passion of learning in the world’s children.

In using the research based principles of integrating the arts in the general curriculum, we hope to increase self-esteem and thinking skills in children to help them become better world citizens. Wherever there is a need, drawchange wants to be there providing art supplies.
