PURPOSE: Provide case assistance, information and referral for seniors. Help seniors acquire benefits and entitlements so they can remain in and continue their involvement in the community.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Be the first face of the senior center’s service area, welcoming seniors, and encouraging their participation
• Conduct intakes to determine eligibility and assist seniors in accessing benefits and entitlements
• Work as a liaison in connecting seniors to other agency and community programs
• Assist with information and referral regarding services
• Maintain strict confidentiality for both client and personnel files
• Conduct ongoing support group sessions in English and Spanish
• Conduct follow up via telephone with senior center members
• Maintain detailed logs of services rendered
• Assist in other areas of the senior center as needed

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Analytical and able to make decisions with limited information
• Able to adjust to a fast pace environment
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Self-motivated
• Availabile anytime between Monday - Friday 9am-5pm

TECHNICAL & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

• Comfortable using a computer
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, and clients
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Bilingual English/Spanish
