Asian Law Alliance is looking for Spanish-speaking volunteers to assist clients with different services. Volunteers will help screen clients during consultations, provide translations for interviews and case work, and assist some clients in filling out legal forms.
Asian Law Alliance is a non-profit legal services organization that is based in Santa Clara County and has been serving the community since 1977. We assist clients in the areas of housing, public benefits, immigration and domestic violence.
Due to Covid-19, volunteers will be performing the work virtually.

Over the past 34 years as a nonprofit corporation, the Asian Law Alliance has helped tens of thousands of people in obtaining decent housing, justice in the immigration process, and access to basic human and legal rights. Today, Asian/Pacific Islanders continue to be denied fundamental rights. ALA continues to keep its doors open for those individuals who are limited in English, who do not understand the legal system, who cannot afford legal fees and who face the reality of discrimination.
Description
Since a group of law students from Santa Clara University founded the Asian Law Alliance to provide legal assistance to the Asian Pacific Islander communities over three decades ago, the Asian Law Alliance, a non-profit organization, has become the cornerstone legal services provider for the Asian/ Pacific Islander community within Santa Clara County.
Today, ALA serves the diverse community of Santa Clara County and other surrounding areas. We provide community education, direct services, and advocate for issues that our important to the communities we serve.
