About Us:

Changing Destinations: Journey To Excellence, Inc. (CDJTE) is a student development program based on the belief that all students have uncharted potential. Our mission is to inspire a renewed desire for academic, social, and personal success in middle and high school students. We break down barriers to success, through after-school one-on-one and small group mentoring programs. These programs focus on four key student development components: mentoring & leadership, social development, cultural competency, and educational enrichment. We are confident that our partnership with students in these areas will to help them chart their own course to success.

About The Position:

CDJTE is seeking to expand its Board of Directors. We are creating a more diverse group of Board Members with a range of experience to collaborate in decision making and participate in finance & budgeting, fundraising & events, program/curriculum development, volunteer recruitment, and workshop facilitation. We are especially seeking a secretary, treasurer, and legal counsel.

The Board of Directors is responsible for determining and supporting the mission ofChanging Destinations: Journey To Excellence, Inc. and for raising funds necessary to carry out that mission. The Board sets policy, provides leadership and vision, and is accountable for fiscal and strategic oversight. As enthusiastic ambassadors of CDJTE, board members are expected to be committed to and involved in our positive growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in carrying out Changing Destinations: Journey To Excellence, Inc.’s marketing, communications and development strategies
  • Serve on at least one Board sub-committee
  • Attend 8 Board meetings per year and other sub-committee meetings as scheduled
  • Raise awareness and funds for Changing Destinations: Journey To Excellence, Inc. (including major gifts and corporate sponsorships)
