A Down to Earth volunteer has a knowledge and holistic understanding of gardening. This person will assist students and the New Earth Down to Earth Instructor in our gardens, mostly located at detention centers in Los Angeles County.

In a therapeutic sense, if students enjoy the fruits of their labor, they are more inclined to complete and enjoy their personal goals.

In addition to working to working with youth involved in the juvenile justice system, New Earth provides comprehensive high school diploma programing in partnership with YouthBuild USA and John Muir Charter School of CA. We are able to host 100 young people aged 17-25, focusing on those who are reentering society from incarceration, currently reside in a group home or are in foster care, and generally those who are in need of a high school diploma, vocational development, and other wrap around services. **Background check and TB Test a must. New Earth reimburses for all clearances.
