About

Did you know that Flying Squirrels are native to Maryland?

Brookside Nature Center feeds flying squirrels in the evening to support our nature programs.

Volunteers are needed to feed flying squirrels on a nightly schedule, but we try to make it so volunteers only have to come once a week at dusk or in the early evening.

This is a perfect job for independent adult volunteers who can spare a half hour in the evenings once a week.

Although not a lot of work and time is required, this is very rewarding and fun! Training will be offered (but it's not that hard!). A schedule will be worked out with the Nature Center's naturalist.
