Marbles is a vibrant and growing non-profit children’s museum and IMAX Theatre in downtown Raleigh with over 600,000 annual visitors. The organizational culture of Marbles Kids Museum is playful and hard-working, led by individuals passionate about our mission to inspire imagination, discovery and learning through extraordinary adventures in play and larger-than-life IMAX experiences.

Marbles Kids Museum has a volunteer opportunity available on the Exhibits and Programs Team. School Programs Volunteers assist museum staff with the set up and delivery of our hands-on, minds-on school programs--Learning Labs and Workshops. Learning Labs extend the IMAX documentary film experience for students in grades 4-8 with 45 minutes of interactive, experiential learning activities. Workshops extend the museum gallery experience for students in grades 4-8 with a 45-minute dynamic, interactive educational workshop.

While helping to facilitate a variety of programs, you will

  • Gain valuable insight into developmentally appropriate programming for students in grades 4-8

  • Assist a team of educators who strive to think outside the box when creating and delivering programming to students.

  • Assist with the creation, organization, maintenance, and set-up of field trip materials

Opportunities exist Monday - Friday between the hours of 9am-2pm, September-December and January-May. This is an ideal opporunity for retired teachers or anyone with an interest in education!
