Skills Needed:

• Love and appreciation for older or disabled adults

• Patient, encouraging, and enthusiastic attitude

• Willingness to maintain confidentiality

• Respect for people of different backgrounds

• Must be able to work with minimal supervision after orientation.

Duties:

• 1:1 visits with older or disabled adult

• Spend time specific with late/end stage for comfort & interaction

• Spend time with residents who need a little more 1:1 attention/ TLC

• Engage in conversation or activity. Take outside for walks; sit with them outside; read to them; assist with letter writing.

• Sensory visits-play music, aromatherapy, hand massages

• Report time spent on volunteer service to Community Outreach Coordinator

Location of Duties:

• Sharon Towers

Time Required:

• 1 - 2 hours per visit. Will work with your schedule.

Training / Preparation:

• Orientation and training provided by Community Outreach Coordinator
