Skills Needed:
Love and appreciation for older or disabled adults
Patient, encouraging, and enthusiastic attitude
Willingness to maintain confidentiality
Respect for people of different backgrounds
Must be able to work with minimal supervision after orientation.
Duties:
1:1 visits with older or disabled adult
Spend time specific with late/end stage for comfort & interaction
Spend time with residents who need a little more 1:1 attention/ TLC
Engage in conversation or activity. Take outside for walks; sit with them outside; read to them; assist with letter writing.
Sensory visits-play music, aromatherapy, hand massages
Report time spent on volunteer service to Community Outreach Coordinator

Time Required:
1 - 2 hours per visit. Will work with your schedule.

Orientation and training provided by Community Outreach Coordinator

Description
The Sharon at SouthPark is a continuing care retirement community (or "CCRC") offering independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing care. It was founded in the late 1960’s by Presbyterian leaders in Charlotte. The not-for-profit community is home to 330 residents on a wooded, 28-acre campus on Sharon Road in the heart of SouthPark.
