The Alamo

Are you interested in Texas history? Do you enjoy sharing your knowledge with others? The spirit of volunteerism is vital to the story of the Alamo. Volunteering at the Alamo is a rewarding and educational experience.

The primary purpose for the Alamo Docent program is to provide a meaningful educational experience for the visitor through personal interaction. By being a docent at the Alamo you will have the opportunity to engage with visitors of all ages from around the world in many meaningful ways. Alamo docents engage with visitors on a daily basis about the history of the Alamo in the Long Barrack Museum, the Shrine and on the Grounds. You will also have the opportunity to participate in and assist with education programs here on the grounds.

There are many perks of volunteering at the Alamo, including a wide variety of continuing education opportunities, which take place throughout the year. You will also get to know and interact with our passionate, engaged group of volunteers and staff.
