Interested in learning about the management of volunteers in a governmental public health setting? If yes, this opportunity is for you!
At HCPH we aim to work hand in hand with students, community members, and services organizations to build a healthy Harris County! The Volunteer Coordinator Assistant will:
- Assist with the onboarding and offboarding of HCPH volunteers and interns
- Support strategic recruitment of volunteers and interns
- Provide some clerical assistance to the Volunteer & Intern Program Coordinator, including developing communications for upcoming volunteer opportunities, scheduling, updating the program database, and assisting with ongoing volunteer and intern recognition activities

Description
HCPH provides public health assessment, policy development and assurance activities for the residents of Harris County, Texas. These activities represent the core functions of public health. For a majority of services, the jurisdiction of HCPH includes the unincorporated areas of Harris County and over 30 municipalities located within the county. Together, this area represents a combined total population of approximately 2.2 million residents. In addition, for some services, such as mosquito control and refugee health screening, HCPH’s jurisdiction includes all 4.7 million residents of Harris County, including the City of Houston.
