Our volunteers enhance the quality of life by providing different types of support to hospice patients and their loved ones. This can include keeping a patient company to ease loneliness. Volunteers focus on what is important to the individual patient, perhaps reading, playing music, playing games, sharing memories or participating in a special hobby.
The holidays are especially difficult for some: this patient very lonely, lives in Anaheim, and would LOVE a friendly visit now and then.
Please know that our hospice volunteers do not provide hands-on care; often the most important thing they do is just "be there" for patients to reassure them they are not alone, to hold a hand, to offer a smile, or to just listen. The personal rewards are enormous, and volunteers usually feel they gain more than they have been able to give.
Please respond for an immediate application; from there we can get the ball rolling, ASAP!
Sound good? Please say "yes!'
