Commitment: Minimum Commitment of 4-6 months; 10-15 hours weekly as available
Purpose: The St. Vincent de Paul Workforce Programs help people regain their footing and re-enter the workplace. The program provides meaningful skills development, part-time employment, case management, workforce readiness classes, and job placement support.
Interns will be asked to:
Work closely with our job training programs staff to identify areas for program development and improvement
Oversee program registration orientation sessions and intake of completed applications
Supervise and work closely with programs participants
Research potential partnerships with other organizations and agencies; identify additional resources and job opportunities for participants
Assist with special events and projects as needed
Collaborate with staff and program volunteers to provide support
Provide administrative and clerical support such as word processing, photocopying, printing, faxing, data entry, filing, & answering phones
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite, email and internet browsing. Interns should have an interest in social justice and poverty issues. Interns must have excellent organization and priority setting skills, customer service skills, a great attitude, and be creative. Experience in working with populations with limited resources that face multiple barriers to employment is useful.
