We are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month on October 12 & 13 at the Naples Zoo! There will be a special celebration that includes music, dancing, and games and the special guests!

We are looking for bilingual volunteers to help with the event by answering questions, giving directions and helping with the photo line.

We also need individuals who are willing to wear the Dora/Diego costumes (must be 5'3" or under to be Dora and 5'4 and under). The event will be open to the public from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on both days. We can set up shifts to make it easier on you (9:30-12:30 and 12:00-3:30. We also need 2 people to help guide the characters as the costumes make it difficult to see, especially little kids! Volunteers must be 16 years of age.

Mission Statement

Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens seeks to inspire people of all ages to respect, value and help conserve wildlife and our natural world.

Description

Naples Zoo is a nationally accredited zoo and yet much more than a walk-through zoo. The nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable institution also features a full day of fun activities. The paved path winds nearly a mile past rare and beautiful animals residing within a historic tropical garden of exotic plants first planted in 1919 with a fascinating history.

In this tropical setting, you can take delight at seeing many of your favorite animals like lions, giraffes, monkeys, pythons, and bears. In addition, you'll also discover feature exhibits and an array of more rarely seen creatures like a giant anteater.

Combining conservation and recreation, Naples Zoo offers fun for every generation. You'll also discover a number of ways to get involved in helping animals. The zoo is accredited by the prestigious Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is an institutional member of the American Association of Zoo Keepers.
