We are fortunate to receive lots of donated items. As the items come in, the clothes need to be sorted by size and hung up. The other small items need to be organized and shelved. Currently the storage room is full and it will take 2 - 3 hours to get it in good shape. After that, 1 - 2 hours per week should take care of it. Part of this volunteer opportunity means taking the items that we cannot use to another charitable organization that happens to be next door to us. We can provide a cart and possibly some assistance. Must be able to bend, stretch and lift about 40 pounds.
Because of the population with whom we work (people with developmental disabilities) you will be asked to complete an application, pass required background checks, sign a confidentiality agreement and attend a 15 minute training session.
Days and times are very flexible but we ask you to commit to a minimum of 8 weeks.
