APEX Hospice and Palliative Care is looking for motivated, compassionate individuals to spend time with patients, assist in the hospice office, or reach out to families grieving from the recent loss of a loved one. We have patients living in both residential homes and skilled nursing facilities that welcome the opportunity for non-medical companionship - volunteers to spend time reading to them, talking with them, participating in activities, just sitting and watching television with them or holding a hand in need.
Additionally, we need individuals to place customer service phone calls to our patients and families to ensure that we are providing the best possible care.
Volunteers may be interested in reaching out to families after their loved one has passed, to provide comfort in their time of grief.
We Honor Veteran Volunteers participate in military pinning ceremonies, or visit with veteran patients and families. Veteran to Veteran contact is a true gift at end of life!
Love On Leashes Pet Team is a popular option for volunteers with dogs certified in Animal Assisted Activities.
Music Companion Volunteers bring the joy of music to patients and families with live or recorded music for entertainment, pain abatement or enhanced memory function.
Let exercise become a part of your daily routine this New Year! Exercise your heart by making a difference in the life of a hospice patient. Somebody needs you....won't you help?
