Purpose: Manage Social Media, establish fundraising platforms
Creating Opportunities for Guatemalans is looking for positive, enthusiastic Social Media and Marketing Intern to manage our Social Media sites and assist with fundraising projects to make a difference in the lives of children living in poverty. We are located in San Antonio Aguas Calientes, a typical Mayan village half an hour from Antigua, Guatemala.

About Us
Creating Opportunities for Guatemalans is a Canadian Registered Charity and US Registered Charity whose mission is to advance education by providing educational support through sponsorships and after-school programs to children living in poverty.
Our vision is to empower Guatemalans to break the cycle of poverty and achieve self-sufficiency through education.
By volunteering in our center, you will be giving impoverished youths the chance to improve their education and enjoy a brighter future. By sharing your culture, you will open up their world by improving their international understanding and global awareness.
Schedule: 9:00 am-5pm Monday - Friday
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Fundraising campaign to hire a permanent or long term, full-time ESL teacher
- Research and apply for grants of all kinds - Canada and US
- Assist and create communication to Creating Opportunities for Guatemalans Supporters through Social Media and Newsletters (which can include fundraising):
- Blogs
- Photos
- Videos
- Emails
- Newsletters/Stories
- Draft press release
- Create an Operations Manual for volunteers
- Create content for the Annual Impact Report
- Collaborate with the Program Director to put together a strategic marketing plan to ideally reach more donors
- Develop initiatives for project growth and greater success
- Project Management, assisting with:
- Internal Communications
- Sponsorship Program
- Finances
- Staff Training
- Staff Meeting
- Lead and improve all administrative processes

Description
Creating Opportunities for Guatemalans is a charity educating Guatemalans as a means to a better future. Through our organization, donors provide monthly sponsorship to children living in poverty to enable them stay in school. Our charity provides an after-school support program to ensure that these children receive help to do their homework and to study for their exams. We also provide additional teaching time, with a focus on critical thinking, and we teach the children English to provide them with this much needed skill.
