Help Sort and Distribute Children's Books
68 people are interested
The Children's Book Project builds literacy by distributing free books to organizations that serve children who need them. We need reliable volunteers to count donated books and sort them by subject and reading level for 2-3 hours/week at our book site in the Outer Sunset. An interest in children's books is helpful. Visit us at childrensbookproject.org for more about our program and open hours. (18+ only at our book site--please see our listing for organizing a book drive if under age 18!)
About Children's Book Project
1360 43rd Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94122, US
The Children's Book Project builds literacy by bringing free books to children who need them since 1992.
We distribute free books to children through homeless shelters, public schools, clinics, daycare, and community centers. Since 1992, we have given over 2,700,000 books to hundreds of facilities serving thousands of children throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California.
We collect donated books, then count and sort them by subject matter and age level. Teachers, caseworkers, and other community workers come to our warehouse to select free books for the children they serve.
We'll work with your schedule.
