On October 25 th, 2015, the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of the Greater Lakes Region will be taking place. In 2014, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of the Greater Lakes Region raised over $70,000 and touched the lives of nearly 700 participants. The truly impressive part of this event is that each year the event grows exponentially, and, with your help, we can make 2015 our most successful year yet!
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of the Greate Lakes Region is a 3.5 mile non-competitive walk-a-thon through Opechee Park in Laconia to raise money and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. People of all ages, including cancer survivors, participate in the event. They can walk, run, or ride at their own pace. The American Cancer Society takes this opportunity not just to raise the valuable funds needed for research and patient service programs for breast cancer patients and their families, but also, to spread the word about breast cancer prevention and early detection.
We need Day-Of Volunteers in various areas from welcoming partiipants, walk route attendants, to kids activities and serving food! Let us know how you'd like to get invovled and we will find a spot for you.
