Support seniors in the community as a driver for Avenidas Door to Door transportation program! Volunteers provide rides to older adults who are no longer driving, to help them stay independent, healthy and engaged. You will drive your senior clients to/from appointments, classes, volunteer jobs, shopping and social outings. This is a wonderful opportunity to provide a needed service and enjoy making new friends! Training is provided and a commitment of 3 months is preferred.
Drivers are needed on all weekdays and will have a set weekly schedule. 4-hour shifts may be 8 AM-12 PM or 12-4PM, but we can work with individual schedules.
Volunteers use their own cars and must provide license and proof of insurance. Volunteer mileage reimbursement is available. Avenidas conducts volunteer background and DMV checks for all volunteer applicants.
