Mission Statement
The Down Syndrome Network of Greater Greensboro is dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with Down syndrome by connecting with new families, providing social and educational opportunities, and promoting awareness and inclusion of individuals with Down syndrome in our community.
Description
The Down Syndrome Network of Greater Greensboro (DSNGG) is a private, non-profit corporation. It is designed to provide emotional support and resource information to families of children with Down syndrome. DSNGG also aims to bring awareness of Down syndrome to the community. Among other support services, the DSNGG provides welcome bags for new parents in the hospital. We also provide many events throughout the year to provide support for our families, including several Free Family Events. Other services and events include a Lending Library full of books and videos to provide information to our families, an iCanBike camp every few years starting in summer 2016, speakers ranging from education to finances for our parents, and a 3.21 Dash for Down Syndrome (5K Walk/Run) starting in spring 2016. Our largest fundraiser of the year is our annual Buddy Walk, which is a day of celebration for our families to raise awareness in the community.
