Volunteers with basic fix-it skills and experience help support Wider Horizons Village members to live out their lives--age in place--within their current homes.

Do you enjoy and have the skills with successful small, brief minor repair projects. Examples can include repairing a clothes washer, a toilet, a dining chair, a front step, installing a shelf, painting a room or mowing an overgrown lawn.

As a Minor Home Repair Helper volunteer you receive fix-it assignments as they are requested by Wider Horizons Village members (living in Central District, Seattle), essentially "on-call" to respond when needs arise.

Volunteers may need to supply/utilize some or all of their own tools. Village members are responsible for the cost of any parts or non-tool supplies. Volunteers are not required to be bonded and licensed, but such certification is welcomed.

Wider Horizons volunteers must successfully complete an application, background check, interview and new volunteer orientation.
