The chipper operator’s role is to assist in managing the work project while operating the chipper. Attention to safety policies and procedures is of the utmost importance. It is the responsibility of the chipper operator to ensure the safety of our volunteers. Successful applicants will have a strong working knowledge of safety procedures, a high mechanical aptitude, and the ability to lead and manage others. A requirement of the position will consist of standing for 6 to 8 hours, offering a short safety briefing to volunteers before project start and the ability to pick up 50 lbs. The ability to pull a trailer is a must and the ability to back a trailer is a plus. Applicants must be dependable, reliable and available at least once a month. Training for this position will be provided.

Description

Black Forest Together was formed by Black Forest citizens to help our community recover from the catastrophic Black Forest Fire of June 2013. We serve the community by organizing volunteer work projects to clean up debris from the fire, obtaining government funding for individual property mitigation, and being a general resource to residents on recovery, mitigation, and disaster preparedness.
