Volunteers are needed for Research! Louisville event on October 12.This event is to introduce High School students to alternative science career opportunities and educational advancements with a biomedical focus.
Volunteers are needed to travel to the different sessions with the students, including "Pulse of Surgery", a live video of a surgery and SKYPE conversation with staff in the operating room. Each volunteer will be responsible for a group of about 20-30 students as they rotate around KSC to different sessions and exhibits. They will sit in with each session (between 20-40 minutes each) and assist with logistics as needed or may assist the presenter. The time commitment is 7:30am - 1:30pm. Volunteer orientation is at 7:30am at the Kentucky Science Center. Sessions start at 8:30am.
Each volunteer will receive a map and schedule for the day, will have 30 minutes before sessions begin to roam the Science Center to plan out routes for moving students.
We are expecting 300 students, and we are seeking 10-15 volunteers. Volunteers will get a box lunch from Subway.
Please feel free to share this opportunity with your friends, coworkers, and family members. We rely on volunteers like you to make our events a success!
