We're seeking individuals who would like to mentor or tutor students who are completing their homework assignments, or preparing for tests, during the early evenings in our residence halls. Glenwood can use volunteers who like to assist in one or more of the major academic subject areas and may to choose to work with any grade level from 3-8, Volunteers may elect to work one or more evenings per week and generally from about 6:00 to 7:00. What some students need the very most is for an adult who will be with them to help them stay focused on the assignment, make sure they understand the question, and redirect them to help find the answers for themselves by using the index, glossary, or highlighted areas in the textbook. Our live-in professional house parents who are our own staff members, oversee the residence hall will always be present during this time.
Please feel free to visit our website at www.Glenwoodacademy.org to learn more about our unique residential school and the specialized programs we have to offer to bring deserving students up to and beyond their grade level. Glenwood has been in existence for over 128 years and exists without State or Federal funding support, thanks to many generous large and small donors.
