ORGANIZATION: Recipe for Success Foundation

  • 21 people are interested

OFFICE ANGELS! We can always use extra help around the office. If you love to problem solve, organize, and focus on details, we have the job for you! Some current projects include:

  • Channel your inner Sherlock Holmes! Research Houston's social calendars so we can avoid conflicts and make sure that our own events are listed correctly everywhere.
  • Digital Scanning: our files are expanding, but our office space is not! Help us convert our hard copy files into digital scans.
  • Closet Inventory: we work more efficiently when we know what we have and where items are stored in our office. Assist us in getting organized and inventory our supplies and marketing/event, and merchandise materials
  • Data Updates: We need your meticulous attention to detail to help us enter and update data so we can do an even better job changing the way kids understand, appreciate and eat their food.
  • Packet assembling: Help us put together media kids, school packets, information folders
  • And many other fun projects!

We ask that you first fill out our Volunteer Interest Form and the attend a Volunteer Orientation to learn more about our work.

About Recipe for Success Foundation

Location:

4400 Yupon St., Houston, TX 77006, US

Mission Statement

Recipe for Success Foundation is dedicated to combating childhood obesity by changing the way our children understand, appreciate and eat their food, and by educating and mobilizing the community to provide healthier diets for children. Now entering our second decade, we have developed a comprehensive experiential learning program that makes healthy food fun, we promote healthy eating with books, contests and public awareness campaigns, and we work to make affordable, healthy food available to everyone. Our signature programs include national initiatives like Seed-to-Plate Nutrition Education™ in schools, the VegOut! Challenge, farmers marKIDS DAYS and the Eat This! series of children's cookbooks.

Description

WE OFFER PLENTY OF DELICIOUS WAYS for you to help us inspire and empower healthier lives

In Houston, we go a step further in helping parents provide healthy diets for their kids, by training US military veterans to grow fresh affordable produce for their neighbors at our 7-acre Hope Farms urban ag showcase in the Sunnyside neighborhood. We envision a world where healthy eating is the norm and a culture where nutritious food is shared, appreciated, and celebrated.
