Learning with friends is fun!

We provide one on one tutoring for children struggling with math and reading in grades 1-6, with a pilot program for grades 7-8. We are envisioning a hybrid model of program delivery but are opening fully on-line this fall, with a strong emphasis upon flexibility and continuity. On-line sessions will be monitored for safety/transparency; tutors will assist students with homework or engage in an on-line supplementary curriculum in lieu of homework. Pre-COVID: All the materials are provided in each child's individualized work binder. Typically, tutors sit with students in a study carrel, either supporting homework or explaining, clarifying and helping the student grasp the ideas and skills in homework or binder. When onsite, we are relocating program in our building to provide for social distancing and cross-ventilation as well as observing CDC recommended protocols. A tutor can select work on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday -- offering flexibility for 1-3 hours/week of commitment. Tutors undergo a background check and receive an orientation before beginning.
