At Care One Hospice we are committed to offering the highest quality care to our patients. Hospice care is about living life to its fullest, up to the final moment; receiving comfort and care when a cure is no longer possible; surrounding a patient and their loved ones with medical, emotional and spiritual support.
Volunteers are an integral part of the Care One Hospice interdisciplinary team. Our trained volunteers provide support, love and care to our patients in a multitude of ways. Such ways include reading to them, singing to them, taking them for walks, or simply by sitting and holding their hand. In addition to providing direct support to our patients, support is also given to the caregivers and families.
By volunteering for Care One Hospice, you become a part of a large family of professional caregivers who are continuously available to mentor and support you along the way. In addition, the education and hands-on experience you obtain from volunteering can strengthen your care giving and interpersonal skills.
Some important qualities that we are looking for in a volunteer:
-compassion
-dependability
-commitment
-ability to maintain confidentiality

- Bereavement and spiritual support: support given to grieving family members and or caregivers after the passing of a loved one.
