- Developing and writing grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making organizations, persuasively communicating My Life Our Journey Foundations mission and programs to potential funders.
- Assembling and submitting grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations.
- Establishing and maintaining personal contact and relationships with foundation contacts and program officers.
- Ensuring prompt acknowledgement of foundation gifts.
- Maintaining calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposal deadlines, and reports.
- Conducting prospect research.
- Prioritizing projects to keep multiple projects moving in a timely manner, meet deadlines and manage supplemental material required for proposals.
- Providing writing support for major donor and individual contribution letters and acknowledgements.

My Life Our Journey is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides resources for families and individuals in Michigan to aid with funeral costs and related expenses, so all people can bury their loved ones with dignity!
Our core focus: U.S. Veterans in Michigan.
The Foundation’s geographic focus: Southeast Michigan - specifically the counties of Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne.
Our goals are:
1) To build alliances with private and public organizations to expand our opportunities and resources to help more families
2) Yield a significant positive impact for U.S. Veterans and their families
3) Provide referrals for emotional and spiritual counseling services
