Take a Break in the Dirt is a volunteer respite care program that uses a universal gardening model and adapts the activities to meet the needs of a child with special health care needs.

By becoming a trained 'Green Thumb' volunteer, you will be part of offering a short break and the gift of self-care for families (caregivers) of chidlren with special needs. Volunteers particpate in a training session to learn the necessary tools to be a successful provider of respite care to a deserving family of children with special healthcare needs. The program has a facilitator overseeing the activities in the garden.

Become a 'Green Thumb' volunteer and be a part of providing a family (caregiver) of children with special needs a well-earned break. Choose Group 1 or Group 2 or both.
