Helping in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program can be rewarding while serving a vital role in your local community. As a Greeter, you welcome everyone visiting the site to create a pleasant atmosphere.
The VITA program offers free tax help to people with low-to-moderate income, senior citizens, persons with disability, those who have limited English proficiency and others who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. Taxpayers can get one-on-one help from IRS-certified volunteers who prepare their taxes for them. Volunteers are needed for the site in Warrenton, VA on Saturdays during the tax filing season.
Training will be held at your convenience. Group meetings with other volunteers will be required before the season begins to assure everone is comfortable with their duties.
