On Your Feet Foundation is actively recruiting two individuals to help grow our organization by serving on our Board of Directors. Interested individuals will have a desire to partner with the Executive Director and members of the board to help the organization grow through strategic development initiatives with a focus on broadening our donor base, increasing visibility and program development.
OYFF serves birth parents who have placed a child for adoption by providing case management, birthmother retreats and need/merit based grants for tuition, counseling and rent. Individuals who have ties to adoption either because they have placed a child for adoption, are adoptees themselves, have spent time in the foster care system or have adopted a child, are encouraged to join our board, although this is not a requirement.
The ability to commit to 6 annual meetings in the Chicago-area is mandatory. Board members are required to serve on 1 committee. It is also expected that board members attend 2 fundraising events annually and engage friends, family and/or co-workers in our cause.
The board is committed to growing the organization and is looking for individuals who are energetic and deeply committed to our cause.
Board members are elected to 2 year terms and may serve a maximum of 3 consecutive terms. Board members are expected to be able to adhere to a $1500 annual give or get policy.

Mission Statement
On Your Feet Foundation values the choice birth parents have made to place their children for adoption, helps birth parents become self-sufficient, and provides support and community after placement.
Description
On Your Feet Foundation was founded in 2001 by adoptive parents, adoption professionals and a birth parent who recognized the need for practical help for women who had chosen adoption for their child. We are a small, nonprofit 501c3 organization that provides personal support to birth parents to help them get "back on their feet." OYFF focuses on helping our clients build a better life by giving them the tools they need through case management and coaching, monetary grants and through the creation of a community of other birth parents. Our case management services and monetary grants are available to birth parents living in Illinois and Indiana. Our annual retreats are open to any birth mother who would like to attend. We also provide speakers for adoption related educational courses and panels, including birth parents, adoptive parents and adoption professionals.
