About

On Your Feet Foundation is actively recruiting individuals to help grow our organization either by serving on our Board of Directors or as a volunteer on one of our 4 standing committees (Governance, Programs & Personnel, Development or Finance). Interested individuals will have a desire to partner with the Executive Director and members of the board to help the organization grow through strategic development initiatives with a focus on broadening our donor base, increasing visibility and fundraising.

OYFF serves birth parents who have placed a child for adoption by providing case management, birthmother retreats and need/merit based grants. Individuals who have ties to adoption either because they have placed a child for adoption, are adoptees themselves, have spent time in the foster care system or have adopted a child, are encouraged to join our board, although this is not a requirement.

The ability to commit to 6 annual meetings in the Chicago-area (Chicago, Evanston and Park Ridge) is necessary. Board meetings alternate between in-person and all-calls. Board members are required to serve on 1 committee. It is also expected that board members attend 2 fundraising events annually and recruit friends/family/coworkers to attend events, as well.

The board is committed to growing the organization and is looking for individuals who are energetic and deeply committed to our cause.

Board members are elected to 2 year terms and may serve a maximum of 3 consecutive terms. Board members are expected to be able to adhere to a $1000 annual give or get policy. Volunteers are asked to commit to a 12 month term.
