Job Title: Furniture Mover Volunteer - Flexible Schedule

Partner families are families that are currently enrolled in the Partners in Housing program, and often times are single homeless mothers escaping domestic violence situations.
When Partner Families are shopping in our Donation Center, they often only have a few items on hand. When you volunteer in the Donation Center delivering furniture or acquiring it, you are giving mothers in the Colorado Springs community a chance to rebuild their home and work towards stability, self-reliance, and prosperity.

Job Definition: We are looking for a volunteer who will assist in pick-ups and deliveries of furniture either from donors or to families in the Partners in Housing program. This is a wonderful opportunity to help single moms make their house a home after coming from the instability of homelessness. At this time, our box truck is out of commission to make deliveries, although when we have enough items to deliver, we will be renting a U-Haul to make one large trip when needed.

*If you are interested in using your own personal vehicle to deliver furniture, this is also an option.

Job Specifications: Able to lift and move furniture.

Each volunteer must complete a volunteer application, sign a confidentiality release form, and pass a Colorado State Criminal Background Check.

Application: http://partnersinhousing.org/give-time/

  • Pass a criminal background check
  • Ability, interest & motivation to pick-up furniture donations from the community
  • Ability, interest & motivation to deliver furniture to our single moms
  • Ability to adhere to our confidentiality requirements
