PROJECT MANAGER Asst. and Admin - HLTP (VOLUNTEER)
Introduction: Warrior2Citizen (W2C) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization based in Atlanta which serves military veterans and their families through an innovative program of research-based, intensive four-day marriage, children retreats and 28-day military/veteran retreats. We are now recruiting an experienced Project Manager Assistant in north metro Atlanta with expertise in Project Management, Event Planning/Execution, Logistics, Hospitality, and Volunteer Management. PROJECT MANAGER - HOME LIFE TRANSITION PROGRAM (VOLUNTEER): Will report to Executive Director and work with members of W2C leadership.
Project Management: Lead the planning and execution of the W2C Home Life Transition Program (HLTP) scheduled for September 17-20, 2015 at the new Metro Atlanta YMCA Retreat, Lake Allatoona, GA. This includes leadership, oversight, and responsibility for the successful execution of all HLTP-related operations and activities including:
Logistics & Transportation
Volunteer Staffing & Management
Attendee / Guest Registration
Hospitality (Hotels, Food & Beverage, Catering)
Command & Control Center (on-site)
Event Load In / Load Out (on-site)
Project Tracking & Reporting:
Provide quantitative and qualitative information to Executive Director
Create, track, and update project status on daily and weekly basis
Forecast volunteer staffing needs / allocation for all HLTP activities (e.g., team leaders, volunteers)
Manage event to budget
Identify and report any issues, problems, and variances that need resolution
Ensure event mission is executed on time and on budget
Must have proficient knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience in Project Management (certified PMP is preferred) and Event Planning.
Must be able to manage and lead project strategically and tactically, roll up sleeves and assist with tasks as needed, and handle crisis and change with professionally, calmly, and tactfully.
Excellent skill sets in leadership, team building, written and verbal communications, and ability to execute the mission.
Candidate must be available to work on-site at the Home Life Transition Program Retreat during September 17-20, 2015, and as needed for this key event.
Preferred candidate is an Atlanta-based Project Management Professional in career transition, retired executive or approved Executive-on-Loan, or retired military veteran interested in utilizing and applying skills in project management, event leadership, and nonprofit service on a volunteer basis.
