Intern Job Description
Title: Adaptive Snowsports Intern
Location: Alpine Meadows, North Lake Tahoe CA
Internship Dates: December 1 st - April 30 th
General Function:
Under direct supervision of the Internship Coordinator, the winter interns will provide, and assist in coordinating adaptive snowsports instruction for individuals with disabilities. Interns will be expected to assist professional staff with special events, fundraising, and outreach efforts. In addition interns will complete other duties as assigned by the Internship Coordinator, or Program Director.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Assesses and delivers snowsports instruction for individuals of all ages with various disabilities. Consistently follows organizational standards, practices, procedures. Attends required new volunteer orientation. Attends clinics both on-hill and indoors. Assists with the transportation, maintenance, and set-up of program equipment. Assists with special events. Develops and completes an intern project. Prepares for and participates in PSIA Level 1 in-house training program.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School graduate or equivalent. College graduate in the fields of Recreation, Health Sciences, or Adaptive Physical Education preferred. Experience working/volunteering with individuals with disabilities. Experience working with individuals with disabilities in a recreational environment preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able to meet background check criteria.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
Intermediate skill level in alpine skiing. Experience teaching and leading a subject or activity. Ability to follow directions and work independently. Ability to successfully manage multiple high priority tasks in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of various computer software programs such as Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook and Excel. Must have the physical ability and strength to participate in daily activities at high altitude. Must be physically able to assist snowsports participants with adaptive equipment. Ability to work outdoors for long periods of time in all conditions. CPR and First Aid certified desired.

Description
Achieve Tahoe is seeking passionate individuals to assist individuals with disabilities participating in adaptive water skiing at Wake Island in North Sacramento. Volunteers will work directly with participants, helping them to find success in water skiing.
