We are currently searching for volunteers in the Following areas: Alexandria/Springfield/Falls Church; Woodbridge/Dale City; and Front Royal/Winchester areas.

We all search for meaning in life. We all want to make a difference. At Compassus Palliative and Hospice Care, our goal is to create a volunteer opportunity that utilizes your skills, talents and interests while supporting our patients. It is a win for all! As a hospice volunteer, you are part of a professional team that supports people with life limiting illness and diagnosed with six months or less to live. How that looks will depend on your skills, interests and professional licenses as well as the patient needs. It could be providing companionship and support to the patient and their family. You might be asked to read to the patient, play music or games or even provide a short break for the caregiver so they can get out of the house for an hour or two.

Compassus is a community-based hospice - as part of our team you will travel to skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, and/or private homes throughout northern Virginia. Assignments will be kept close to your home or work and hours are flexible, based on your availability. We simply ask for a commitment of an hour or two each week for at least one year. A background check, TB test and attendance at orientation are required and provided. Whether you have had a personal experience with hospice, feel a calling, or want to add greater meaning to your life.... we would love to hear from you!
