Did you know that reading to a child for just 15 minutes every day for 5 years is 456.25 hours?
The United Way of Marion County Florida's ReadingPals program is seeking community groups and businesses to sponsor a book drive for the children of Marion County, Floroida.
ReadingPals has partnered with the Marion County Public Library branches to instill the joy of reading to distribute books to families at a variety of branch locations. The children who attend the library outreach events such as Festival of Fall, Artic Blast and Suess-a-palooza are read a favorite themed story, participate in a fun activity and recieve books.
All books collected in a book drive will have a logo with the donating organizations's name and will be recognized at the event a donor. Recognition of the volunteer project will be via social and print media, a letter will be sent to the donating individual or organization.
Books can be picked up or delivered and a presentation photo will be taken.
