Boys Hope Girls Hope of Southern California is an academic scholarship program for underprivileged youth that provides boarding homes for our scholarship recipients.
We have students coming in the program that could use help getting on track academically with Math, Science, English, Reading, Writing, Spelling, Study Skills, Organization and the like.
Tutors typically come to the houses for an hour once or twice a week on school nights (Sunday thru Thursday) between the hours of 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. and assist our scholars with their homework, teach good study and organizational habits and practice the skills in which our students need to improve. However, new students may require additional attention, we would even ask tutors to come twice or three times a week until the child adequately improves. We have locations in Santa Ana and Fullerton.
If interested, please contact Desiree Hoogeveen at dhoogeveen@bhgh.org or (949) 515-8833. Resumes are appreciated but certainly not necessary.

Mission Statement
Boys Hope Girls Hope nurtures and guides motivated young people in need to become well-educated, career-ready men and women for others.
Description
Boys Hope Girls Hope ( www.bhghsocal.org ) helps children who are academically capable and show great promise--to achieve their full potential by providing them each with a value-centered, family-like home, a quality education through college and a host of ancillary services and opportunities. The success of Boys Hope Girls Hope is based upon one simple truth: children who have a stable, happy and permanent home life are much more likely to succeed in school and adulthood.
Founded in 1975, Boys Hope Girls Hope is a privately funded, non-profit organization that works to make a profound impact in the lives our determined young people. Our approach is unique and holistic providing children who have demonstrated academic potential with four critical ingredients for success: Homes, Opportunities, Parental role models, and Education. We opened our first home in Southern California for boys in 1991. Our second home, Girls Hope, followed in 1996.
