Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maine Bangor House is a home away from home for families whose children are hospitalized or receiving treatment locally. RMHC offers a warm, safe place for families to stay with all the accommodations of home. Guest families have access to private rooms, shared bathrooms, a family room, full kitchen, laundry room, library and playground.
RMHC is seeking compassionate individuals, families, or pairs of volunteers to help keep this "Home Away From Home" running strong. House Volunteers cover one 3-hour shift between 9am to 9pm, on weekdays, on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis. Volunteers assist with taking referrals from the hospital, checking in new families, helping with check-out procedures, basic administrative tasks, housekeeping, and organizational tasks. Volunteers help support our guest families by offering a listening ear and a kind word of encouragement.
If you're interested in helping to keep families close while their child receives treatment, please let us know!
